December Daily 2012: Day 13

Sankta Lucia (Saint Lucy) procession in preschool and school. We had a busy morning on the “Lucia”-day. First up at 7 a.m. was the celebration in preschool. Our little “Lucia” had been looking forward to this with excitement and also with a bit of butterflies in her stomach. But the performance went well and she and all her friends sang joyfully all the Christmas carols they had rehearsed. There were some “action” on the stage as well, when some of the younger children almost ended up in a fight in the middle of one of the songs!

Next up we headed to school for our “star boy’s” Lucia-celebration in his classroom. It is always so beautiful to watch the procession with all the lights and listen to all the songs performed by our children – the audience is full of proud and happy parents. This year you had rehearsed the Lucia-song in Italian instead of Swedish – impressing and beautiful! If the preschool procession was performed with some “action”, I noted that this one was performed with lots of children having a cold. It was very obvious (and a bit of funny) with all the coughing and sneezing in the middle of all the songs. Well it is certainly that time of the year.
